Catching Up On Our Fall To-Do List

We still needed to make some spooky treats. Although, these aren't really "spooky". They are "Fallish". And can anyone tell me what happened to the orange and black M & M's??? All I could find were the bags with Fall colors but they don't have any orange in the bag! How can they call them Fall M&M's without orange????

I digress. Here's the snack we made. You've probably seen these before and I've made them many moons ago, but just in case you want to know how to make them....
1. Heat oven to 325.
2. Line a cookie sheet with foil or parchment paper.
3. Lay pretzels (I used mini ones) on top.
4. Lay a Hershey Kiss on top of each pretzel.
5. Put in the oven for 2-3 minutes (if they're shiny, they're ready to come out).
6. Carefully, press a piece of candy on top of the Hershey Kiss and press down slowly. The Hershey Kiss will collapse. I used M&M's and Sophia suggested using Candy Corn. I've seen people use Rolo's.
7. I placed my trays of goodies in the refrigerator to help them set up.
Sophia helped me with this one by unwrapping the Kisses and placing the pretzels and Kisses on the tray. I did all the additional labor.

Next up, pumpkin carving!

Sophia was really into it....in the beginning. But I think she might have her mama's attention span. :)

Then, she got distracted by the tools....

The tape.....

Russell on the other hand is super focused.

Sophia would occasionally get interested in what daddy was doing.

But then she got distracted again....by the pumpkin she picked out at the pumpkin patch (get this....she picked a white pumpkin because she said she wanted to paint it when she got home).

She said the pumpkin smelled like honey.

And was grossed out by the "pumpkin brains" as Russell calls it.

More for Russell to eat.

I think Sophia began to wonder why it was taking so long so she took matters into her own hands....

I just like this pic of her.

Like I said, she was very distracted by all the tools.
She was very interested in smelling the pumpkin this year which is new for her.

"Come on dad! How much longer is this gonna take????"

"Do you want me to help?"

"Okay dad. I've had enough pumpkin carving. I'm ready to go visit Nana and Paw-Paw. Check ya later!"

So we left dad alone to work in peace and headed over to my parent's house for a visit.
To Be Continued.....

Mama's Little Helper

One thing that Sophia loves to help is folding laundry, especially towels.

And I say that for a 3 year old, she has pretty good technique!

Pumpkin Patch! Yes!

Good gravy Marie! I just knew these pics were going to be out of order. I interrupted the download cause it was so slow...Oh well. All you really need to know is that we went to the Hall-Johnson Rd Pumpkin Patch on Saturday with the Hardens (to make up for the pumpkin patch Sophia had to miss last week due to strep).
Here's snack time....

Here's Sophia playing while she should have been in line to sit on the tractor. She threw a wall-eyed fit because she wanted to get on the tractor next. But she hadn't been waiting in line. She didn't get the concept.

Here we are acting goofy!

 No glass!!!

For some reason, Sophia got upset because someone "took" the pumpkin she wanted. So we found another one and she still wasn't really happy about it.

Sophia wanted to go find the animals.

See, these pics below were supposed to be at the top. This was the first time we went. She was about 16 months.

Sophia and Atticus really enjoyed the playground.

Then we entered the corn maze.

Sophia looks a little possessed here.
We actually found our way out this time!
It was a fun time!
