My Little Artiste

And just in case you were wondering how she did in my art class, she did GREAT!

I had her on Wednesday.

 

When she had a question, she raised her hand. She never addressed me as mom or Mrs. Kaminski (or Mrs. K). 

She was her normal silly self. Just a little more subdued.

She was happy that she got to sit at the pink table. She was not happy that she wasn't chosen as Super Star Student. Even though she was the best student, she's my daughter and I just couldn't pick her first for obvious reasons. I didn't find out that she was upset about it until the car ride home (love that 2 minute commute). She was good and held it in during class. A huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I think she'll be fine in my art class.

The First Day of School

Sophia was so excited about the first day of school. Seriously. I think I was kind of shocked because she'd been worried about starting kindergarten all summer long. But maybe it was just my bribery (I promised her if she was brave, and had a good, and didn't cry, that after school we'd go get the Princess Palace Pet she'd been eyeing at Target). Call it bad parenting, but I knew if she was just brave enough to make it to class without crying that she'd have fun once she got there. It was just getting in the door I was concerned about.

 

All smiles....

Sophia had a great first day. She said there were a lot of silly boys in her class and she made 4 new friends. Just hoping this positive attitude lasts.

 

 

PK Graduation

This is what Sophia looked like when she first started PK at Ms. Melanie's. She was only 2.

Mrs. Melanie gave each child a graduation bear, a book and Toys R Us gift card.

Here is Sophia's best buddy at PK, Brody. They've been friends since they were 9 months old and went to Ms. Brenda's together.

Saying our goodbyes....

We've got a kindergartner on our hands and I'm afraid I'm not ready for this....it's surreal. Kind of like the 1st and last days of school when you're a teacher. They never feel real.
