We began Sophia's new soccer season on my birthday (Feb 20th) with a soccer practice and her first game was this past Sat.
And she was excited.
We started a new league due to some coaching/league issues with BESA (we'd only really signed with BESA because we thought it would be easier on the grandparents trying to see Jack and Sophia's games at the same time/day...at least it would be the same field, but he didn't end up playing soccer). And also because we wanted her to play with/against her classmates at River Trails. So now we're with HUSA (Hurst United). Now we're on the Yellowjackets.
The first game went pretty smoothly.
Her coach is actually the college coach for Texas Weslyan's soccer team (not sure if for male or female). But he's volunteering because her team didn't have a coach and like hell if Russell was volunteering again with his work schedule. And I could do it ( I did play k-12, plus a little intramural post high school), but after teaching all day, the last thing I want to do is coach soccer.
Warming up!
Getting a little advice from Coach.
And she's in!
And on it! She was a little slow to get in there (they'd only had one practice), but we saw a spark in her at one point.
Halftime!
Second half!
Throw in! Great form!
3/4 break time...
Kick off!
She made us very proud. And like I told her "I love to watch you play"!
As a parent, that's all you need to say.
And we saw a ton of her classmates on other teams. Looking forward to playing them.
