At the Zoo...(field trip)

 were lots of.....

Animals (of course).

(Loved seeing this little guy!)

(And owls....my fave!)

(And Sophia touched a snake, 2 years in a row.)

There was also, lots of waiting.....(we met up at 9:45 ish and the zoo didn't open until 10).

Sophia was a little apprehensive with all that waiting (the build up).

There was also was a lot of riding...

which began as soon as we got there!

There was also a lot lifting.....

There was also a lot of pulling.

There was also a lot watching....the animals that is...

There was also a lot of pointing....

And mapping....

And of course there also a lot of pouting and drama (by Sophia)....maybe her lack of hair accessories threw her off?

And of course, there was a little ice cream (via Braums). Thank you Braums for having vanilla chocolate chunk. Sophia and I enjoyed it!

Hope This Makes You All Feel Better!

What happens when you cross me being lazy after I get home from work, me reading a really good book and having a really busy week/weekend....

.....this is what you get. :)

I hope you all feel better about your own homes now because yours has to look way better than mine.

But I finally got motivated to clean it all up. Some days, I wish we had 2 dishwashers...or a maid. A girls gotta dream!

Sorry for the quality of these pics. I was not motivated to care. :)

Happy Birthday Tri!

On Sunday, we headed to the park for a playdate with Atticus and Tricia (Tri). Monday was going to be her birthday so we brought her a birthday present. We got her (and I say we because Sophia helped pick out all the stuff...excluding the book and trashy magazines) a beach bag filled with a beach towel, trashy magazines, a book and sunscreen. We also brought everyone Starbucks, including Atticus (water) and Tri (I somehow remembered that she likes the Chai Tea latte, couldn't remember hot or cold so I opted for cold).

After a little play, we brought out the kite Sophia had gotten a while back from Nana and Paw-Paw. Let me tell you ladies, it's so nice to bring a husband or 2 to the playdate so that the mommies can catch up on everything while the daddies entertain the kids.

I couldn't believe they got that thing in the air considering how little of a breeze there was.

Apparently flying a kite draw a crowd. Another successful playdate! And happy birthday Tri!

Happy Birthday to Will!

Saturday was one busy day for us. I took a craft class at The Little Blue House that morning from 10-1. Russell took Sophia out to run errands while I was gone. We met up later that afternoon and headed to Will's (Sophia's cousin) party.

He had it at a gymnastics place that hosts birthday parties and to Sophia's delight, they had a bouncy, slide, obstacle course thingy that she loved.

She also loved the trampoline!

And there's the birthday boy! He's turning 9.

Sophia was a little bossy.

She also loved the uneven parallel bars. She does them in gymnastics.

Russell tried to give it a try but decided against it. Smart man!

Then it was time for cake.

Sophia had so much fun that she didn't want to leave. Poor baby.

Thanks for a great party Will (and the Herron's).
