End of the Season Party

We had our end of the season party this past Thursday. Thank goodness we didn't have a practice because I think it felt like 30 degrees outside. Burrrr......

We had it at Pizza Garden in Bedford. They have a seperate party room for free. So we had pizza, then awards and then cupcakes. And because I'm the team manager, I was in charge of planning all of this.

Russell started passing out the trophies (which I was also in charge of ordering), randomly. Not like I had planned with the kids coming up to get their trophies, one by one. Oh well. Next season.....

Sophia was super proud!

One event down.....Soccer fest and art show to go!!!! Way to go Hawks! Great season!

And Even More Soccer!

What have we been up to?

Not much except soccer. Last weekend, we had 2 games. And this week we have their end of the season party and Soccer Fest. Plus with practices on Thursday evenings and gymnastics on Tuesday evenings, it seems like the week just flies by before I have to blog about anything. So I thought I'd post some more soccer pics since I don't really have any pics of anything else. :)

Hope that was enough of a Sophia fix to last another week. :)

Soccer Saturday

Finally getting around to blogging about last weekend.

Saturday was team and individual picture day and they also had a 12:00 pm game. Pics were at 11:00 am.

It was so windy! Which made Sophia's individual pics un-orderable. I could have ordered them, but her hair was everywhere. And I could have had her pics redone cause they print a thumbnail there, but it would matter. Her hair would still be everywhere. So Russell suggested I just try to get a good pic of her before her game (think I'm going to try this Sat.) But we did order a team photo.

Then it was game time....

Sophia was way more aggressive and "into" getting the ball this time.

It's amazing how much this age group can progress in such a short amount of time.

They were actually passing a few times. Amazing!

Sophia even took a couple of crashes and falls without crying. Yep! Amazing!

I had to document that Sophia is actually eating an orange, even though at home, she maintains she doesn't like them. :) After this game, Sophia has been requesting oranges for snack time....Love it!

I'm picturing Sophia on defense if she continues to play.

I was so proud of her. She got in there and held her own. Wasn't afraid. Didn't cry. She paid attention. She actually kicked/dribbled the ball. Last week she told me that she couldn't actually go after the ball in the game because "she was too shy". Guess she's getting over her shyness. :)
