So guess where we went this morning? Haha! Yep, a park! Back to Mayfair Park because it's the perfect place to fly a kite, wide open spaces. It was great.
Yesterday, when we were at Chisholm Park, she saw some people flying a kite and demanded that we go home and fly her kite. Recently they had K day at school and she brought her kite for show and tell. So she was really excited about going home and finding her kite again.
And boy did we pick the perfect day! It was windy!!!
We had trouble with lift off.
A lot of trouble with lift off!
But once we got her flying, it was easy.
Or so we thought. Back down she went!
Then she was back up again!
And then we had some father/daughter issues. She wanted to hold it but she wouldn't hold it tight enough and Russell wouldn't let go and let her hold it.
So then, Sophia decided she'd rather play and not fly the kite.
Yep, there's daddy by himself, flying the kite.
And here we are, playing on the playground.
Yep, daddy is still flying the kite by himself.
Finally, daddy had enough kite flying and came to play on the playground.
He tried to show her how it's done.
But that didn't help.
So back to the slide she went.
She wanted to give the kite one final try. I got Russell to just let her run around with it (honestly, I think that's all she wanted to do in the first place).
And she had a blast.
Full of highs.....
And lows.
She even got her daddy tangled up a few times.
But once she got that kite up, she had a pretty good run.
It was so fun to watch her accomplish something and have fun doing it.
Good job Kaminski's! Now it's off to Freebirds!
P.S. For the record, we are staying home tonight, New Year's Eve, grilling steaks and baking some potatoes.
P.S.S. Sorry for so many pics but if you haven't noticed, my blog is more about the pics/photos than the words.
