On the Road to Nascar....the Nascar Experience

We decided to have a bit of lunch before we headed over to the Nascar Hall of Fame (for Russell...he loves Nascar for some reason). We went to Cabos Tacos, which had been featured on one of Guy Fieri's shows. And boy was it yummy!!! I had the fish tacos (blackened Mahi-Mahi).

Sophia had a great time rough housing with her Uncle Cam and cousins.

Every time I see one of these here, I think of Phoebe from Friends.

Then it was off to the Nascar Hall of Fame.

This is one of the places Russell has been dreaming about going every time we visit Charlotte.

It has a mock track with real Nascars that were actually driven in races.

But first, we had to check in at the card kiosk to register our cards.

Russell had a little trouble and was getting aggravated.

And Sophia wanted me to come rescue her.

Here you can see the incline of a regulation Nascar track.

33 degrees...that's the degree of incline.

We did the pit row crew experience where they had to gas up the car and change the tire.

Not too bad. 19 seconds. 15 seconds is average for Nascar.

Then it was time for the simulator experience. Russell and Sophia rode together.

Here's an actual car seat from a Nascar. Imagine spending 3 to 3 1/2 hours in one of these.

Sophia got to wave the flag.

And I think overall, everyone had a good time even though Russell was the only one who really wanted to go. I expected it to only take an hour, but we closed the place down. We were there from 2:45-6:00 and still didn't see everything.

A Day at the Pool

The next day we went to the community center that they belong to. It has a workout facility and pools. And yes, we were very worried about Sophia going into the pool considering her poo situation. But apparently, the pro-biotics are working. No accidents at the pool.

It was just good old fashion fun! And knock on wood.....no more diarrhea so far. YEA!!!!  And so far, no one else has been infected. Double YEA!!!!

Vacation....Day What???

Okay...day 1 or day 2 depending on how ya view it. But we're waiting on Aunt Brandy to get in town. So we started the day with some play outside.

Sophia loves to swing!!!

And she was pleasantly surprised that the cats didn't run away. Thanks Tink and Belle!

This is their cool deck, just so you can get an idea of what a cool backyard we're in.

And once again we tried to get her to sleep with her cousins.....

It did seem hopeful. In fact, Sophia did fall asleep. But so did her arm that woke her up at 12 a.m. And brought her back to our bed.

Every Party Needs a Pooper.....

Once we got there, we had the code to get into their house and waited for them to get home.
We went out to dinner and just at the end of the yummy meal, Sophia threw up all over the table and herself. Thank goodness I had her extra set of clothes in a plastic Ziploc bag so I could put her vomit clothes in her back pack without stinking it up.

After that, she felt much better and seemed to play okay until.....

the diarrhea began. She'd had diarrhea on Mon. and it had started to get better. We'd gone to the dr. and were told she looks good. To me that meant, there was nothing wrong with her. Well, once she started with the diarrhea again, I called her dr. back to talk to a nurse to find out if there was anything we could do. And also to find out if she might be contagious. Apparently, yes, she was diagnosed with a stomach virus but the dr. failed to tell me that or that she was contagious. That first night, she had diarrhea off and on all night and we went through about 5 pairs of undies.

We attempted to get Sophia to sleep with the girls in a trundle bed. She started out there with them, watching a movie. But eventually, she kept crying so I took her to our bed and she slept with us for the first. Actually, Russell slept on the floor. BOY does she toss and turn.

I hope this doesn't become a pattern. And I hope the diarrhea stops soon.
