We did something a little different this year for our December birthday girls. We combined their parties and we opted for a restaurant instead of my mom cooking a big meal.
We went to Tolbert's in Grapevine. And of course, downtown Grapevine was decked out with Christmas decor.
They even have a place to drop of letters to Santa.
As soon as we were done eating, we hit the streets to see all the sights. The kids led the way.
They have these little houses and fenced off areas for the kids to enjoy. I was more focused on photographing the kids so I didn't get many pics of the displays.
And trying to get 4 kids to look the same way and cooperate was hard.
The head band that doubles as a sweat band....that darn thing kept sliding down all day.
Poor Will. Sophia kept dragging him from display to display.
And then we found the Santa on stilts (as if Santa didn't already creep kids out already). But surprisingly, Sophia did not get creeped out.
They had the kids playing games to see if they were elf material. The first game, Santa Says.
I don't think Sophia quite got the object of the game, but she had fun.
The next game was to test their flexibility and nimbleness. They were told to get in a line and they had a limbo stick they had to go under. When they rushed to get in line, this little boy pushed his way between Sophia and Will. Sophia was not happy (see below).
Sophia decided she was done with the Elf Games.
We decided to head back to the car and head over to Nana and Paw-Paw's house for dessert. Along the way, we saw a Nativity set.
And Sophia was happy to give baby Jesus a kiss.
Happy birthday sisters!!!
