Nana's Birthday Party

On Sunday, we celebrated my mom's (Nana's) birthday. My sister Robin  made this cake. Yes, I said she made this cake! It looked amazing! And it tasted amazing too!

My dad was very happy to have such a captive audience to show off his new phone.

And here's the birthday girl! I think I need to switch over to whatever she's using on her skin. It looks so good!

We got her jewelry from Main and Vine, a little shop in Keller. If you haven't gone before, you need to go. They have mostly handmade items from different artisans and they also have art classes there too.

Then it was pool time! Yes, Robin, you made the blog. Haha!

Sophia was pretty handy with the water gun.

Direct hit!!!

And then of course it was ice cream time!!!

Happy birthday Mom (Nana)!!!!

It'z Pizza

On Saturday, we met Atticus and Tricia up at It'z Pizza for an indoor playdate.
First up, bowling!

Then time for some racing. Although, they had trouble reaching the pedals.

So we had to help them out.

We had a great time!

Sophia's First Ranger Game

Friday night, Sophia went to her first Ranger game. Russell and Sophia got invited to go by Russell's friend at work. It was a father/daughter date. Boy was it hot for them!  But I think Sophia enjoyed it!

Russell let Sophia take a few pics...the ones below.

Yep, Sophia got a hold of a pen and went to town on her leg earlier that day. We still can't get it completely off.

Here's Brandon and Reagan.

The guys took the girls to the upper deck, thinking it wouldn't be so loud. But it was still loud.

All Sophia really cared about was getting her ice cream! They didn't get home until 9:30. I was really surprised.
While they were at the game, I got to rent a movie, The Black Swan. Twisted movie! But nice to just sit back and relax.

Lego Land

My parents stopped by on Thursday to drop off a gift they picked up on their latest trip. Such a cute little cowgirl/princess.
On Friday we went to our last field trip of the summer....to Legoland.

Sophia's not really that into Legos so I wasn't sure if she'd like it. But she had a blast.

So focused!

Actually, I'm kind of glad that she's not that into Legos. I can't imagine storing/keeping track of/organizing ALL THOSE LITTLE PIECES!!! Yikes!!

They even had a princess room for the girls.

I think Sophia's favorite thing was the slide.

Hey Dirk!

We ended our trip with a 4D movie. Sophia wasn't a big fan.

I think there was a lot more to see and do, but it was noon and the kiddos were hungry. So we went home. It was fun being able to go on these field trips with Sophia!

Welcome to Our Cave

In an effort to keep our energy costs low and hopefully to avoid rolling blackouts, we've shut all the blinds and curtains. We've turned the thermostat up to 80 when we're all home. We turn it up to 82 when it's just me at home.

This better help lower our energy costs because I miss having the blinds and curtains open. The a.c. temp doesn't bother me but I miss the light.
