Soccer!

And back by popular demand......pics of Sophia (LOL!).

This past weekend we were supposed to have a game on Sat but it got rained out, but we did end up playing on Sun. And boy was it windy and cold.

But the kids didn't seem to mind.

But we were frozen on the sidelines. Thanks to my mom and dad who came out and watched in such a cold blustery day. And thanks for the blanket!

Sophia got a lot more action this game. She got to kick off the ball. Throw in the ball. And actually kicked the ball in play. I asked her why she was afraid to touch the ball last week and she said she was too shy. She didn't want to kick it in front of everyone. But boy does this girl love to run. She will chase the ball endlessly. And once she gets there and she's  the only one possible person to play the ball, she steps around and lets someone else get it.

BUT, she's having fun and likes it so far. I think she just loves running.

Maroon 5

This past Thursday, I went to my first concert in forever.....Maroon5! I thought it was Morrissey but I'm pretty sure it was Depeche Mode. I went with my friend Tricia, her sister Gina and their mutual friends.

Tri and I took the train in and let me tell you, that was so awesome! No aggravating traffic scenarios....We just got to catch up! So fun!

Owl City was the opening band.

Neon Trees was next. Loved them! As Tri said,a young Billy Idol.

We had a little break before Maroon 5. Here are Tri and her sis Gina.

Pre-Maroon 5....

Maroon 5!

And here I am! Post concert. Didn't get a group shot of us. Oh, well.

It was a fun night. I didn't get home until 12:00 am. This was Thurs. night. So Fri. was a really long day at school. But I made it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day! From this little leprechaun ! And I wish I could say I forced her to wear this get up but she's the one who picked it out, put it on and proudly wore it (she got the party accessories at school).

And today, the actual St. Patty's Day, Sophia chose to spend it planting my parent's garden.

Thanks for the pics Nana!

And all good assistants become bored eventually!

Thanks for giving us the afternoon off Nana and Paw-Paw. I'm gonna miss nap times next week. :)

Stephanie Meyer...Oh My!

Sorry dad (and others), no pics of Sophia.

So it's day 2 of my Spring Break. I went and did the elliptical at the Hurst rec center. I was driving out to the yoga center I had a groupon on, and I heard them announce that Stephenie Meyer was going to be at the Lincoln Park Barnes and Noble at 2 that day.

What the what???

So after heading home, I headed out to Lincoln Square.

So off I went to Barnes and Noble Lincoln Square. Yes, I said Lincoln Square. After I made arrangements with my sis Ames and my hubs, I realized the radio really did say Lincoln Park instead of Lincoln Square because I drove to the place where the Lincoln Square Barnes and Noble used to be. Darn! I knew they said Lincoln Park not Lincoln Square. Any who!

Thank goodness I have a husband that's willing to navigate me.

So off I drove to Lincoln Park which is Dallas (In fact, I believe it's the same book store we saw Emily Giffin at. But I could be wrong. You know me and directions).

Yep, I just said Dallas. Dallas traffic and everything about Dallas scares the bejesus out of me. I hate driving in Dallas. And this was by myself.  And if you know how much I hate driving in Dallas, plus not knowing where I'm going, you might have some sense of  my panic.

Here's a shot driving in! Love the sky.

Once I made it there, I had to buy one of her books to get a ticket. So I bought The Host since I don't have that one and haven't read it. Sure wish they'd had hard copies instead of paperbacks. I was poorly equipped.

This is when I heard screaming from above. I guess  Stephenie and the actors had arrived.

And I waited. And waited. And waited. It felt like forever.

While waiting I shopped for books. Apparently the whole Grey's Anatomy is a real book just a different spelling?
They let up the A-E wristbands. After that, they started letting the rest of us up. I had a k wristband.

And finally, I got to meet her. I expressed my thanks for her risking carpal tunnel. Darn! I'll think of something better next time.

And we got to meet the movie characters.

Loved the one on the right! He was super nice.

And then back home....now what were those directions again????

I did make it home safe and sound, without Russell's help.:)
