What A Clown!!!

I knew I was forgetting to do something....I have no pics of our visit with Nana and Paw-Paw today. We went out to lunch and then they watched her while we went shopping and worked around the house.
So these pics are from earlier in the week. I was going through Sophia's 2 and 3T clothes for the next JBS sale and we found her snowman hat (which isn't too small, we had just put it away last spring and really haven't needed a hat yet). The hat was made by Kelly, eldest daughter to my friend Donna. And of course, Sophia loves the hat too! In fact, she demanded to wear it during nap time and to bed. Here she is clowning around.....

Not wanting to be out done, Russell got his favorite hat too!
What clowns!!!!

Welcome to the Lakes of River Trails

And when I say lakes, I mean LAKES!!!
We got a lot of rain overnight on Tuesday and into Wednesday morning. And of course, since we're in one of the lower lying neighborhoods, all the run off flows in our direction.

This is not really a lake. It just turned into one overnight.

Uh oh! Trouble up ahead.

Looks like Trinity is under water.

Yep, underwater. I had gone to work this way earlier that day (because east bound Trinity was closed and Precinct Line was closed. So I had to go west bound Trinity and to 820 to Hwy 10).

So I had to cut through this neighborhood. Lucky for us, the flooding was right in between the two roads we needed to use to get home.

Sophia and I decided to drive over to our lake and see how much water it had.

Those trees right there are not part of the lake. They line Precinct Line. Yep, that's Precinct Line Road.

I'm just glad we were able to make it home safely.

The Last Running of the Train

This past Saturday, we had our last running of the train with our special guests, Atticus and Tricia. Unfortunately because I was dealing with a pouty Sophia, I have no pics of that (she was upset because she didn't get the first turn to run the train). We tried explaining that guests get the first turn but she was having none of it and stormed off to her room to pout. Fortunately, this did not bother Atticus in the least, and he (I think) enjoyed the train. I'm glad he ignored her antics.

But then after that, we went outside to test out Atticus's toy he brought over to share. It was this super cool rocket launcher that you jump on to launch.

Atticus was a pro!

Sophia needed a little work on her form but still enjoyed it none the less.

I'm not sure who had more fun, Atticus and Sophia shooting the rockets or Russell fielding them.

Then we took turns between shooting the rockets and mowing the lawn.

Sophia had to apologize for running over Atticus's hand. He was very quick to forgive and move on.

And honestly, I can't even remember what happened to set Sophia off (Tri help me remember). But she was obviously upset.

I'm assuming it had something to do with taking turns???

Next up, the princess castle.

Then a show (Bubble Guppies).

Just chillin'!

For 2 "only" children (still searching for a better term for that, it sounds so lonely and sad), I'm glad they found each other. They teach each other to share, take turns, and have someone to hang out with, other that us. So glad these 2 have each other!
