Tree Trimming!

On Sunday night, Sophia and I decorated the tree. She was super excited!

She did need her step stool (her idea) to reach the taller parts of the tree.
We started out with her wanting to unwrap all the ornaments and hand them to me to put them on the tree. However, she got a little frusrated with that so she suggested I unwrap them and hand them to her to put on the tree. But she got frusrtaed with that so she suggested I unwrap them, HAND THEM TO HER, and then she'd hand it back to me to hang on the tree. So much for my little helper. But at least she was entertaining and cute!

I had suggested we watch a Christmas movie , like Polar Express, while we decorated. She however, subjected me to Barney Christmas. Blah! Nothing like a little Barney to put you in the Christmas spirit. Not!!!

Good thing she's cute and makes me laugh!

A Park Play Date Reunion

This past Sunday we had a little reunion with one of our old park play date members, Allison and Emily Morris (and now Everett). I thought I'd post these pics for comparison. It's from the first park play date, when the Morris/Fey/Harden/Sparks and Kaminski families all got together on March 28th, 2010.

Now! Fast forward....
To present day....here's Atticus!

Emily and Sophia....we were just missing the Fey and Sparks kids. But they lucked out because it was flippin' cold! It was the wind. It was ferocious!

Here's Everett.....our first time meeting him.

Look at those girls climbing.

Sophia's was having some trouble with her footing, but I thought she could handle it.

Not looking good! Shortly after this she fell, flat on her face.
Between that and the cold, our play date was cut short. But not before Emily officially introduced us to her baby brother Everett.

Okay, Sparks and Feys.....we need a reunion park play date!

Park Time With Atticus

On Friday, we got together with Tricia and Atticus for a little play time at the park.
There was a lot of swinging......

....and chasing......

...and a few hurt feelings (my girl is so sensitive...wonder where she gets that from).....

They were both a little emotional that day. It's not easy being 3 and 4. :)

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day was a little different this year. Usually we spend it with my family. Then on Friday we invite Russell's brother and sister-in-law over.

So this year, since my parent's were out of town (in NYC...their life-long dream to be at the Macy's Day Parade), we had Uncle Brice and Aunt Cynthia over on Thursday, instead.

We did our annual roasted lamb (sometimes we do a rib roast) and Russell's amazing twice baked potatoes, and green beans wrapped in bacon. Yummy!

And we watched the Aggie game. I think Uncle Brice had the Aggie fight song on his phone and was playing it for Sophia.

Even though we were watching the game, we still had plenty of time to play.

And to plenty of time to dance.

Unfortunately the Aggies lost. But, it was a hard fought, close game. There's always next year....
