Day After Christmas: Afternoon/Evening

Later in the day (after all that playing in the snow), the Kaminski's came over for dinner and to exchange gifts with Sophia.

Sophia loved her presents.

And couldn't wait to play with her new stuff.

Day After Christmas: Morning

The day after Christmas, we played in the snow....for about 15 minutes. It was so cold outside!

Russell wanted to build a snowman. Sophia wanted to build a Grinch castle.

At first I thought Sophia won.

But then she asked me for eyes and a nose for the snowman. I quickly found Oreos for the eyes and carrots for the nose and a horn? 

I guess it's a unicorn snowman.

And Sophia decided that Oreos couldn't just go to waste.

Then we around to the front yard to see how the neighborhood looked like.

A White Christmas

Around 11 or 12 in the afternoon, it started snowing! My first white Christmas (we were out of town 2 years ago when it snowed around Christmas time).

And it was cold enough for it to actually stick and accumulate. 

Because the Kaminski clan was staying at Uncle Brice's and Aunt Cynthia's in Haslet, they were kind of apprehensive about driving to our house and back in the icy road conditions. Chickens!

So they missed out on Russell's awesome leg of lamb roast, twice baked potatoes and bacon wrapped green beans. 

We had a nice relaxing day. It was amazing at naptime, watching those big snowflakes rain down. So calming and peaceful.

Once we all had our naps, it was time to rock the microphone!

I'm really not sure who had more fun. Russell, Sophia or myself (getting to watch it all).

Christmas Morning

Sophia made the good list!

And Santa was very good to her this year. She got the Princess and the Popstar castle she asked for.

Her stocking was full of things she loves.

And he also got her the microphone she asked for.

We got her the LeapPad Princess bundle.We also got her a few books and the Tag book reader because she LOVES to read books.

Then it was off to Nana and Paw-Paw's house for breakfast and more gifts.

She got Princess puzzles and a cute outfit set from Nana and Paw-Paw.

And she got Kiera from the Princess and the Popstar from the Herron's.

Look at these two! Sophia is becoming one of the big kids.

After that, we headed back home to open the gift from her girl cousins. They got her a Barbie car. She loved it!

It was a very fun morning! We got a fire going and Sophia played with all of her new stuff.
