Leapin' Lizards!!!

Today we went on a field trip to Leapin' Lizards (a bounce house place where kids can play in N. Richland Hills). The last time we went was the same day that Sophia complained of a tummy ache and ended up throwing up in the car on the way home.
But today she was feeling great and her favorite part was this slide.

And chasing her friends.

Here's her buddy that she's known since she was 9 months old. They were together at Ms. Brenda's (her childcare provider before Ms. Melanie).

Here's another buddy that she's known since she was 9 months old, also from Ms. Brenda's. It's kind of neat that the some of the same kids grow up together from infancy to kindergarten.

And Ms. Melanie got in on the action too. I don't know how she has the energy to chase these kiddos around all day.

Here they all are saying good-bye to Ziggy.

Bye Ziggy! See ya next summer!

What a Busy Week!

We went to a pool party (at Hurst Aquatic Park) on Wednesday where Sophia ate, I mean wore, a cupcake. Happy birthday Jane. While there, Sophia made a new friend Jill. I wish I had gotten more pics of the party but I wasn't in camera mode that day. But we had a great time.

On Saturday, we had a Splash Pad play date with her best buddy Atticus, where for a second there, we thought we'd found a long lost Fey baby. Check out the little redhead in the middle. Atticus and Sophia played chase with her.

And then on Sunday, we went and got Sophia a haircut.
Before.....

After....
Apparently Sophia is more daring than I am with hair. When we left, she said "But I wanted it like Rapunzel at the END of Tangled (she has really short hair at the end)". So I explained that we'd try to go shorter next time.

We still have to make her 3 year old stepping stone. We just keep putting it off. Hoping her feet don't grow too much before we can get to it.

One Way to Really Tick Off Your Husband....

Alright ladies. If you really want to tick off your husband, put a clear plastic drop cloth on the grass from about 11-3 in mid-July (so that you can spray paint some frames for a project). It works really well at killing grass. And do all of this while he's out of town on business so he's completely surprised when he returns (I did give him a heads up, it didn't really help though. He had no idea how "big" of an area I was talking about).

But who knew? I thought I was doing the right thing with a clear drop cloth but apparently the heat was just too much for it.

It looks like a flippin' landing strip!!! Sophia took one look at it and said letters (you can't really see them at this angle).
Poor Russell!!!!!

Family Photos

The first weekend in June, we headed out to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens to meet photographer Brandi with B4 Photography to have family portraits done. Typically, we have done some in the past closer to Christmas and usually indoors. And every time, Sophia has had professional pics done, she's cried. This time was different. Sophia did exactly what Brandi asked. Not a single tear! We're very pleased with our pics.
