Our Little Reader

For family members waiting on pics of Paw-Paw's birthday celebration, stay tuned. I already had this post started.

Sophia has been reading up a storm. And by reading, I mean being to see the letters, know the sounds and sound out the word. Of course this doesn't cover comprehension. But it's a start.

And of course Sophia wanted no part in me capturing it with my camera.

But then one day, we arrived home on fire prevention day, and when I came out of my room after I changed clothes. This is what I saw. She had set up a group of her animal friends. And of course since it was fire prevention day, she had to wear her fire hat.

She just had to read to her friends.
And then she discovered I was watching her.

Sophia! I just can't help it! You're just too cute! And I'm so proud of your reading skills.

I tried uploading a video of her reading but Blogger is being picky. I'll keep trying.

Gymnastics

We signed Sophia up for extra gymnastics classes (per her request and at the same place she already goes to with her PK). It was hard to get pics of her standing still, she was too excited.

See! Super excited!

I was able to get a few pics from the parent room but had to turn my flash off because of the plexi-glass. So the shots are a little blurry.

So far, she's loving it! She also loves that two of her PK friends go there as well and are in the same class.

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Sophia and I went on her school field trip to the pumpkin patch. Last year we couldn't go because Sophia had strep throat so I was glad she was well enough to go this year.
She was super excited that Ariel was there!

And this year, she was excited to go through the maze and slide down with her friends.

She went on all the bouncy inflatables all by herself.

Then it was time to pick out a pumpkin.

Sophia had a little trouble deciding on just the right one.

Decisions, decisions...

Yes! She found the perfect one!

Here are the All Stars minus one who couldn't come.

We also got to go on a hayride.

Sophia was also adventurous with her climbing. She usually won't climb on top of the monkey bars, but she did today.

Her favorite was the slide.

Sophia was excited to see her favorite Canadian (Russell calls him the Canadian Charlie Brown), Caillou.

And of course, Strawberry Shortcake was also a big hit.

And of course, Snow White was a big hit too.

It was a great day!

Weekend Fun!!!

How could we top a weekend cooking class with her best bud Atticus? It was hard be we had a blast!
What a fun filled weekend!
We started off with a visit from Uncle B and Aunt C.

Uncle B was extra silly. Must a been the Aggie win!

Here's Sophia hijacking Russell's glasses....what she might look like in glasses (that aren't crooked).

On Sunday, we got out the paints. Russell hates when I do this. But I just squirt the colors she wants on a paper plate and let her go crazy. And go crazy she did. I love it. Russell hates this part. But I guess the art teacher in me just wants her to be free with the paint. And she had a blast!!!!

Don't worry. The Gymboree sweater she's wearing actually has holes in it (poorly made) and was bought at a deep discount (hence the holes). :)
