PK Graduation

This is what Sophia looked like when she first started PK at Ms. Melanie's. She was only 2.

This is her at her PK graduation.

Mrs. Melanie gave each child a graduation bear, a book and Toys R Us gift card.

Here is Sophia's best buddy at PK, Brody. They've been friends since they were 9 months old and went to Ms. Brenda's together.

Ms. Melanie's graduating class of 2013

Saying our goodbyes....

We've got a kindergartner on our hands and I'm afraid I'm not ready for this....it's surreal. Kind of like the 1st and last days of school when you're a teacher. They never feel real.

Thanks Ms. Melanie....for everything.

Meet the Teacher

This week has been super busy. Between our regukar chores, I've gone back to scholl. And now Sophia is in school. At my school! She has Mrs. Hoss. We are so excited!

We had meet the teacher night.
Sophia got to pick her locker.

She was born to ROAR as a Tiger.

New Beginnings

First of all, I forgot to do an entire post about Sophia getting her glasses. I didn't take very many pics because I didn't want to make her self conscious. Boy was it hard to refrain.

Maybe there is a 12 step program for snap happy mommas??

So here she is, moments after we picked up her new glasses. They are a darkish purple and Hello Kitty on the sides.

My mother also celebrated new beginnings, a new year (it was her birthday).

Sophia is ALWAYS front and center for gift opening or dessert time.

Happy birthday Nana!!! We wish this sweet lady a very speedy recovery from her recent (non-life threatening) surgery.

The Karate Kid

Sophia finally decided that she wanted to try Tae Kwon Do after many months of thinking about it.

Her instructor is Mr. Valdez an we found out about them from Atticus.

Mr. Valdez is great with the kids!

He makes it fun but at the same time being firm and no nonsense.

For Sophia's first class, Atticus and Apollo attended so that Sophia wouldn't be alone. So sweet!

Sophia got a special shirt that says she survived her first Tae Kwon Do class.

Sophia couldn't wait to go back. That was a Wed. Given a choice of Thurs or Fri, Sophia chose Thurs. She gets 2 days a week and we can choose from 3 days (W/Th/F).

Mr. Valdez helps them with their belts.

Apparently her younger teacher didn't get the memo that Sophia just started when he chose her for a demo.

Let's give Sophia a hand!

Mr. Valdez makes it fun for sure.

But Sophia did a good job of listening and following instructions.

Success!!!!
