Pumpkin Patch.....Uh No!

This past Friday was supposed to be Sophia's pumpkin patch field trip so both Russell and I had already asked off way in advance. Visions of pumpkins and hayrides were starting to dance in our heads Thursday night. We were thinking of this from last year...

and this....

And this....

We were not thinking of this. I knew when she went to bed on Thursday night she seemed extra tired and cranky and she kept saying she was cold and her stomach hurt.

Well, she that and she asked to go to bed...at 7:30. She woke up at 8:30ish with a 103 fever. NOOOOO!!!!! This might mean no pumpkin patch, no Atticus's birthday party, no Aunt Robin's Ranger watching party. We were bummed to say the least.

I gave her Tylenol and it brought the fever down. She woke up on and off every 2 hours or so. She puked on me at 3 something. I happened to look at the kitchen clock without my glasses. It definitely started with a 3.

The next morning, instead of the pumpkin patch we went to the Dr. But thankfully she had strep instead of a virus, so she could get on antibiotics and hopefully might be well enough to finish our weekend plans.

I happened to find a Reveille pillow pet for Sophia at Target to cheer her up. It helped!

Thankfully the meds worked and she was fever free and on antibiotics for 24 hours. And thank goodness for naps so Russell and I could catch up on our sleep we missed on Thursday night. How did we do it all those months when Sophia was a baby?????
So we might just make it to Atticus's party and Aunt Ro's Ranger watching party.

Aw... poor Sophia and Mommy and Daddy! Nothing worse than a sick baby and I never thought I would hear you say... glad it was strep-lol. Happy she is on the mend. We need that pillow pal here!
