Bring on the Snow! You Can Keep the Ice!

So yesterday at school, there was much speculation over whether we'd have school on Tuesday. The weather people were predicting rain, ice, sleet, snow and temps below freezing. But how many times do they say that and nothing happens? So I thought to myself, "I'll believe it when I see it". Well, if seeing is believing, then I believe. Actually I started to believe about 2 or 3 this morning when I heard the sleet hitting our windows. But would school be called?
I went ahead and woke up at my usual time and started my Pilates workout. Around 5:10ish, I got the text that school was indeed canceled. YIPPPPEEEEE!!!!! I say yippee because I was glad I didn't have to drive in it. I know we'll have to make it up, but these snow days are nice, little surprise days off.

Of course Sophia was a little disappointed that she couldn't go to school. But she got over it very quickly when we let her go outside for a little bit.

Her favorite thing....tasting the snow. And yes, we actually had some snow.

We only lasted about 10 minutes. It was FREEZING!!!!!!

I was wondering how long you lasted out there! We made it about 5 minutes before I wimped out!! (the kids would have made it much longer!) Glad to see Sophia loved it so much!

Not very thick but apparently is causing quite a lot of problems. Maybe y'all will get lots more like last February!! Cute pics of Sophia's excitement!

We lasted about ten or so too. Maybe a little longer but we were all wearing ski suits! Without the wind it would have been fine but jeez that wind would blow and any part of your skin not covered was burning cold! I am wondering what is going to happen tomorrow!

This makes me happy and yet, sad. Happy to see Sophia enjoy the snow and ice... sad we are no longer EVER gonna get days like that here!
