Introducing....Ariel!

Introducing...... Ariel! I was quite surprised that Sophia allowed us to put the wig on her head, much less wear it the entire morning at school and entire evening at the the festival.

Sophia had to wear her costume to school Monday morning for festivities, pics, parade and party.

Later that day, we came home, ate, and rushed off to the Fall festival at my parent's church.

Yep, that's the pumpkin Russell carved!

The biggest difference this year was that Sophia wasn't as afraid. She didn't cry at all when she saw other trick or treaters in a costume that involved a mask. She was just in gernal a lot more brave. Not talkative. But would go up to the candy givers without us right at her side.

This was the even that Sophia chose first. It has water and bath toys. Who wouldn't go there first? I think she was a little disappointed that she didn't get to keep the bath toy or get IN the water.

Does anyone remember the fish game from last year???

Yep! We won a fish! Russell was super excited. It died the next day.

This year, we encountered the same game. And yes, we won another fish.

But it just seemed appropriate since she was Ariel.

We shall see if "Nemo" (her name, which I believ she used for her fish last year), lasts the night.

More games....

And face painting....

And balloon animals.....

And fishing....She should be a pro at this. And she was! She got 2 fish!

Then therre were the bounce house slides.

It's Ariel vs. Snow White...Snow White's in the lead....

Unfair advangtage Snow White! Ariel's dress is much longer!

She LOVED the bounce slide and if she could have gone down it forever, she would have been the happiest mermaid on Earth.

And then came the real bounce house.

And finally, Russell's masterpiece. Bat-Kitty or Kittty Bat. It's the best pic I could get without a tripod.
All in all, it was a great night. Sophia behaved very well (except for a few minor emotional moments). She didn't get scared of people in costumes. She wanted to do all the games and rides. She wore her wig the whole time up until the slide bounce house etc.

The only thing is, after we got home at around 7:45, we got Trick-or Treaters. And she was super disappointed she hadn't gone door-to-door. And she liked handing out candy. So maybe next year, we'll just do the nieghborhood thing? But we had a fun time!

Sophia picked this pattern out. She had the option of Elmo characters, Princesses, Sesame Street characters and she chose the scary ones.
