The Splash Pad

Saturday, we met Atticus and Tricia up at the Euless Splash Pad for some morning playtime. When we first got there, it was open but we couldn't get the water turned on. So Tricia called the number on the sign and we waited for someone to come and fix it.
While we waited, we snacked on some cookies and they ran around the Splash Pad chasing each other.

That yellow pole has a sensor that you touch to get the water to come back on. It usually stays on for 15 minutes and automatically shuts off until someone hits it again. They told us to hit it really hard, so we used our shoes, rocks, whatever we could find to hit it.

Then, Patrick showed up and came to our rescue. Apparently, the main source for the water hadn't been turned on.
Let there be water!

So the playdate finally began. Most of these don't need explanations. It was just fun seeing them run around and play.

Sophia brought Atticus his water. What a little helper.

And of course, there was a little pull up crack.

For some reason, Sophia wanted to take off her swimsuit bottoms. I don't know why.

And then we went to Burger King.
After that, we headed over to Nana and Paw-Paw's house to visit. They're leaving on a trip on Sunday and won't see her for a whole week.
While there, cousin Jack, Aunt Amy and Uncle Jay showed up for a swim.

Have a safe, fun trip mom and dad!

Her 3rd Painting Class

We had Sophia (and Atticus's) 3rd painting class tonight. We were all super excited that we were actually painting again. As you can see, Sophia was really happy painting her cat.

Atticus was soooo excited about painting that he ate a little of the paint (or a lot, not quite sure on the amount).

Sophia decided she liked painting better standing up and lost the chair.

Atticus is painting a car and as you can see, Atticus was super excited about his project too.
Sophia kept getting up to "sneak up" on Atticus and would say "got you!".

Then we made an octopus using our hand prints.

It was kind of funny, Tricia and I were standing at the sink rinsing out our brushes, and we look over and see our 2 kiddos are the only 2 running around the room chasing each other. I think it's just because they're so familiar with each other. We just had to laugh.

Yet Another Trip to the Museum

I'm sure all of you are tired of reading about our trips to the museum. But, it's Texas and it's hot. What's a girl to do? You want your kiddo to have fun, expend some energy and not have to sweat to death in the process. So off we went to the museum, again. We met up with Tricia and Atticus.
But you know what, kids like repetition so I don't feel bad. Plus, with our membership, just trying to get my money's worth.
The really cool thing about this museum is that they always have new stuff. Plus, to the kids, they notice something new each time.
For example, this thing. It was there last time but Sophia didn't notice it all. But she did this time.
And we're off....

This might be as close to veggies as Sophia will ever get.

She at least put some cauliflower in her cart.

Might I mention how cute, I mean rockin' cute, Atticus looks in his overalls?
This was the first time Sophia really noticed the fountain from this angle.
This was the first time Atticus got on the horsey. Such a pro!

This was the first time Sophia noticed the front of the horsey.
I think they're comparing boo-boo's here.

Of course they had a great time with all the da Vinci experiments.

Everything Atticus did, Sophia wanted to do too.

Then it was time for a snack.
During snack time, we finally got them to say "Oh man!" in unison. We both caught it on tape. Unfortunately, I'm having a difficult time uploading it to blogger.
One of the funniest things, I wasn't able to catch with my camera. It was Atticus trying to go back inside and Sophia telling him no and waving her finger at him. Oh no you didn't!
Sophia was calling for A-cus to come here a lot. She's a little bossy. But they had a great time.
She's actually still sleeping. She went down for her nap at 1:30 and it's 5:30 right now. Love those long naps.
